And you’re yet another idiotic person who doesn’t understand what I said. I’m still right and yes they are facts. The only ones who can’t seem to handle others way of doing things is you morons. I’m not the one getting “pissy” nor am I the one resurrecting a year old comment thread.

The opinion they referred to was specifically how you said that moving data and saving it onto an AppleTV’s hard drive is irrelevant because that’s what streaming is for. The idea that something is completely irrelevent to you is an opinion…just because you think it’s irrelevant doesn’t mean it is 100% fact…you know this but you keep defending your argument by stating facts we all know.

The point of the OP’s comment was that they want their digital movie data stored on the physical hard drive of an AppleTV. Instead of getting pissy, maybe explain how they could do that if you’re so sure it’s possible. The point of the article (and the point of OP’s post) is that sometimes people don’t to rely on wireless/data/bluetooth technology…they’d prefer to physically carry around their data and not rely on streaming. If you can’t possibly fathom that someone would want to experience or handle something differently than you, maybe don’t come running your mouth on an online forum? These places are to talk solutions out and get info..you have to know that right? Otherwise you’re just a person who doesn’t even realize their incapacity to put themselves into someone else’s situation in order to contribute to an adult conversation is making them a troll.

edit: i’m not ATVH customer service btw. It’s just the random name assigned to my gmail acct.

Not irrelevant at all. You clearly don’t understand what I said. To clarify, streaming movies from your Mac to your Apple TV:
1. doesn’t use data
2. is completely legal, moral, and ethical
3. and doesn’t “leave breadcrumbs”.

That is 100% facts, not opinion.

But your statement, while correct, is entirely irrelevant and grounded in opinion, one which does not provide the solution we are searching for. We do not want to stream. We want immediate access to watch, transfer, and watch/listen to a file saved to the HD. I want my shit on usb, transferred to a jail broken phone, to my grandma’s Mac via Dropbox so I can burn a hard copy to DVDs for her collection. I understand that you prefer to stream. I prefer to save data, use wifi for legal, moral and ethical activities and avoid leaving breadcrumbs of my biblical online endeavors.

Mate you are fully wrong. Im glad i never have to meet you because i have never seen a more arrogant internet user in my life.

Let’s examine the original comment:

“Really? If you have an Apple Mac and an Apple TV, there is no way to get my home movies on my Mac to my Apple TV without having to get 3rd party apps? Really?”

The user is expressing frustration that there is no way to get his home movies onto his apple tv. Here the word ‘get’ clearly indicates having them on the tv itself, not merely streaming them, otherwise he would have used a word like ‘watch’ or ‘stream’. The problem is that he, like many of us, bought an apple tv with the expectation that we would be able to load movies onto the tv and use it offline to watch movies.

For example, my main use case for buying one is because we have a bach with no wifi. The apple tv seemed perfect as we could just rent a bunch of movies at home and then go away for the weekend and watch what we had downloaded without using wifi.
Instead, we have to resort to renting the movies at home, and then torrenting them and loading them onto the tv using vlc, very unlike the ease of use you would expect from apple. While we still pay for the movies, and get to watch them offline, we are unable to do this in one simple process, and are forced to delve into torrenting sites to get them, which is really unfortunate.

Let further examine your answers. One that strikes me as particularly retarded was your third comment, where you state that “Moving the files to the Apple TV is unnecessary because of streaming.”
This is completely wrong. As clearly shown in my EXTREMELY OBVIOUS use case above, many people have situations where they do not have a wifi connection. Baches, cars, planes and others are obvious cases in which offline viewing is not only useful, but just plain necessary.

Your comment was wrong, and then for some reason you wrote HIS response FOR him, which i don’t quite understand…
You clearly didn’t read any of the earlier comments when you made your retarded reply and obviously need to go back to primary school, but then ended your reply with: “I know reading comprehension is hard, but you could at least try.”
Why would you insult yourself? I don’t understand. Please address that in your reply.

I will examine one final reply.
In your 5th reply, You write that “Streaming is the way Apple designed the Apple TV to be used, which is clearly way above your head. Moving them “physically” on to the Apple TV is completely unnecessary.”
Again, you couldn’t be further from the truth. Moving them physically on to the Apple TV is extremely important to many people, and that simple fact seems to be. in your words, “clearly way above your head.”

And then again you insult yourself again. You have completely ignored the fact that people often use these things offline, and you seem to have your head up your ass. But again, why do you insult yourself? You write: “But I suppose thinking outside the box is kinda hard for you when you’ve got your head up your ass.”

You clearly aren’t thinking outside the box and have your head up your ass, but if you know that, then why not just stop being in idiot? It’s far easier than insulting yourself…

Kinda annoyed that i wasted 5 minutes writing this out, but the whole insulting yourself thing didn’t make sense. Please reply and let my know why so i can understand.
Thanks

Hi PMB01, There is nothing wrong with John’s 1st comment on Bill’s (original) comment, so nothing to be pissed about to call him offensive words really 🙂 he’s on spot commenting about transferring files to either from Apple Mac to Apple TV, or from TV to Mac. As John said Your solution is more about streaming from iTunes.

My English is perfectly fine, asshat. I mistook nothing. I said that you can watch the movies, that are on your Mac, on your Apple TV without 3rd party apps, which is 100% correct. Streaming is the way Apple designed the Apple TV to be used, which is clearly way above your head. Moving them “physically” on to the Apple TV is completely unnecessary. But I suppose thinking outside the box is kinda hard for you when you’ve got your head up your ass.

He asked about getting Media he already has on his Mac onto his AppleTV and how he can’t do it without 3rd party apps. He’s correct, and you mistook it as streaming. Get over yourself and admit you were wrong, or learn English. The fact that he said “without 3rd party apps” shows he meant to move, copy, or transfer them to his AppleTV… to do so would require 3rd party apps.

I did. Your original comment has nothing to do with what Bill was talking about. All of my comments have been correct and on point. You’re the idiot here talking about something completely different that no one was asking about. Try that whole reading thing again, dumbass.
