Problem is that I can’t get it to connect to the Internet even though I’ve added my server ip address and username and password for my router. In network settings it doesn’t show the line ‘internet: connected’ and when trying to launch a plugin they are all saying script failed!
Any ideas please? Thanks in advance.

You guys need to put in the directions that it needs an Ethernet connection hooked up, too! Something I only found out AFTER it was bricked and I desperately combed thru the forums.
My Apple TV is downstairs and attached to my old analog TV via RCA component cables. All my Ethernet is upstairs. I have no monitors with RCA-in (and no, it’s a 22-inch glass CRT, not moving that TV upstairs!)

Thanks for nothing, dudes!

I’ve had my original AppleTV sitting around gathering dust. This certainly adds life to it – especially being able to access video files over the network and Airplay. Only issue was getting it to install but that was due to the specific USB stick having issues(2gb memorex), it was old and I remember the xbox having issues with it. Tried another stick and it installed no problem. During install it gave and error about partions not matching – I think

Sorry if this is a clumsy question…

I have an ATV1. It is working fine with XBMC, but it is funb to try new stuff.

I stopped really early in the above user manual.

I connected the USB. Then it satopped for me. Open your Terminal app? I didn’t get that. Do they mean putty? Or (I’m on Win7 64bit) run, cmd and something?

I fouind this one; https://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=Installing_OpenELEC_on_AppleTV

It didn’t say anything about Windows at all..

Sorry, probably a n00b question

I cannot afford to lose my Media, although being able to run Frodo would be just awesome.
