thank you! this worked! Menu + R 6 seconds… saw remote unlink top left – Menu + L 6 seconds… remote works.

Still doesn’t work. The menu button rewinds and so when I press it to unpair/pair it will not respond. Ethernet cable plugged in and the remote app refuses to work. The app flashes red on my screen when I press a button.

If it fails at step 2 what should we do? I replaced the battery as well.

The remote also has a slight flaw. The positive and negative pieces inside the remote that actually come in contact with the battery get loose over time and may not be making solid contact. I folded up a tiny piece of paper napkin and stuck it between the battery and battery cover and voila. The last batteries i actually bought were a tiny bit skinnier than the name brand ( energizer) batteries that i were in it so the paper towel was almost necessary for a clean connection

Yes, COCOtva is correct. When a new battery, ex. Duracell 2032, is purchased it is so easy to open up the package and make the switch quickly. Just remember that the manufacturer now places a sticker (equal to the size of the battery) on the unstamped side of the battery. The black sticker states “harmful if swallowed” in English and two other languages and contains a black outline image of a baby with a red crossed out circle over the image. The sticker will stop the battery from making a connection and must be removed prior to use.

My Apple TV 2 shows its main screen on the tv, but no light on the front of it. I cannot control it with remote, battery good. When testing with iPad camera remote blinks like it should. What next?
