In reply to Knuspar. Well do some research. Tethered only means you have to reboot your Apple TV when it's powered down. So when that happens, I connect it to my laptop and reboot it. In sleep mode, no reboot necessary, hence it's working great for me.

I have upgraded to ATV Flash 2.3 but in settings information my atv shows apple tv 5.0.2 firmware version. How can I upgrade firmware to 5.3. ? Software udate indicates that my atv it’s up to date

What is the point of 5.3 compatibility? It cannot be jailbroken.
