In reply to Mark Hibben. The thing that seems interesting to me, is that the current generation of A4 based chips now match/exceed the capabilities of the ATV, which creates parity between the two systems, which has not happened until now.

I just have a feeling that this is the moment that Apple has been waiting for...

Interesting rumor, but I'm not sure how iPhone OS would work without a touch screen. Still, I expect that Apple will be motivated to put the A4 in as many products as possible. I was expecting expansion of the A4 family more in the direction of Apple's mobile products. Also, I believe that 1080p output would require modification of the A4 itself. Not absolutely sure, but current iPad specs only call for 720p support. Chipworks has developed a high resolution image of the actual A4 die, showing much of the silicon logic.
