Don’t get me wrong, I think it is a great accomplishment to get that application integrated and running on AppleTV and I don’t mean to take anything away from that. But my simple goal is to use AppleTV as a video-end-point for playing my VIDEO_TS ripped movies store on a NAS. And nitoTV almost gets me there. Almost. There are just enough hiccups (that require my intervention) that it doesn’t pass the Wife test (and the pre-schooler test, who can work the DVD player and DVR no problem).

If I could put together a wishlist, it will be like this:

1. Play ripped DVDs from network
2. Play like a DVD player (pause, ff, rew, menus, chapters)
3. Remember last position on stop
4. Show metadata

And I can see how some people love the idea of emulators, but shouldn’t that go into a separate application.

Anyway, keep up the good work and congrats on what you have achieved so far.
